The Tendürek Dâgi is a shield volcano in the  Turkish province of Ağrı in the district Diyadin  near the Iranian border. He is with 3533 m   one of the highest mountains in the country .  The ridge runs in an east -west direction. The  Tendürek has two cones and a crater lake on  the eastern slope with 500 m diameter and is  Turkey 's most active volcano . Its last  eruption of gas and ash was carried out in  1855. The outbreaks and the emergence of  the volcano left broad lava flows , now  covering 500 km ².  At the eastern flank  comes from the mountain water vapor and sulfur fumes , which the environment of the  crater has turned yellow . The temperature of the vapor is 60 ° C.
